Day One:

We will travel to the beautiful Laurel Highlands region of Pa for a one night, two day adventure! Our first stop will be at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort for a delicious luncheon followed by a guided tour of the $45 million Hardy Family Art Collection. See work by Rockwell, Tiffany, Remington, Audubon, and more. Our day continues with a tour of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most famous Home, Falling Water, literally built over a waterfall, and voted by National Geographic as “one of fifty places in a lifetime” to visit!

Our overnight accommodations will be at the beautiful Historic Summit Inn. Located atop Rt. 40, the Summit has welcomed guest for over 100 years including Henry Ford and Thomas Edison! Dinner will be on your own to choose from the elegant dining room or more lighter fare at the lounge. Enjoy fabulous views and sunsets from the huge porch!

Day Two:

Breakfast will be included at the Inn before departing to the Flight93 National Memorial. Walk through the new visitor’s center with its moving exhibits, sights, and sounds. Continue out to the Memorial Plaza, and visit the Memorial Chapel for meaningful items related to the Flight 93 heroes. After lunch on your own at Eat and Park in Somerset, we will finish our day with a visit to the inspiring Quecreek Mine Rescue site. Hear the amazing story of 9 miners trapped 240 feet beneath the farmer’s field in July 2002. One miracle after another brought about the wonderful conclusion to a mining accident. See the actual rescue capsule, broken drill bit, and many other artifacts.

We will make a rest and dinner stop en route back home.
